Living with Autism

Caring for someone with autism can be difficult and exhausting

Raising a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder can be very demanding and extremely stressful. Every individual on the spectrum is unique and the challenges faced are different for each member of the family including parents, siblings and grandparents. Join the AAB and share your concerns with other carers of children and young adults living with autism at our bi-monthly meetings.

Part of the Linden Bridge School workshop in April 2009 focused on living with autism, its effects on families, guardians, relatives and siblings. Many issues were addressed including coping with children's behaviour, the expectations of parents, and the presence and role of siblings throughout the development of the child or young adult.
